Rearcross trekked to Borrisokane for this league opener and secured a comprehensive win on the day. Rearcross showed strongly in the opening half and enjoyed a four nil lead at the half time whistle thanks to a Stephen Rochford hat-trick and a close range finish from Danny Poyzer. It was more of the same in the second half as Patrick Dawson pouned for a brace, Sean Malone also converted from the spot while an own goal made up the Rearcross tally. The lone Borrisokane penalty came courtesy of a converted penalty.
